Concepts and Prescriptions from the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon for the Treatment of Future Diseases: Tao Method
The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon contains thirteen prescriptions, with eight in the Suwen and five in the Lingshu. Compared to the 113 prescriptions in the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon stands out as a theoretical masterpiece of Chinese medicine, especially in the specific treatment of diseases. Its essence lies in disease prevention, embodying the approach of superior doctors who treat diseases before they manifest. According to the four qi-regulating principles of the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon, Tao Method utilizes Chinese essential oils for meridian scraping to clear meridians, coupled with modern health products for dietary adjustments. This forms the basis of Tao Method, a yin-yang balance health method. In clinical practice, this therapy employs a balanced regulation of the four aspects: qi, blood, water (fluids), and the heart (emotions). It leverages the patient's natural healing ability to restore health, thus achieving fitness, curing diseases, and nourishing the body in line with traditional Chinese natural therapy.
Qi Regulation:
Meridians and acupoints related to the disease are selected throughout the body. Using a buffalo horn scraper, Chinese herbal essential oil formulas are applied, and Gua Sha is performed on these meridians and acupoints on the skin surface. The therapy begins with unblocking the Governing Vessel and Bladder Meridian, thereby clearing the meridians throughout the body. As the Gua Sha marks subside, local symptoms also improve, enhancing the body's natural healing ability and aiding in disease prevention and treatment.
Considering that 80% of the air we breathe is indoors, aromatherapy prescriptions using Chinese herbal essential oils are tailored based on the patient's physique, personality, and home environment. This approach aims to mitigate modern indoor air pollution, instill healthy living concepts, and balance the internal and external qi necessary for a patient's healthy life.
Patients are advised to inhale hydrogen for its antioxidant properties and use a DENBA mattress to align the body's frequency, eradicate free radicals, boost metabolism, and hasten recovery in affected areas.
Adherence to the Ziwu Liuzhi, the meridian flow system of the five organs and six bowels, is fundamental to determining a person's health. In modern terms, this is known as the biological clock, which has been linked to conditions like cancer and lifestyle-related diseases. Recognizing the detrimental effects of modern life's poor rhythm is crucial in addressing lifestyle diseases. Patients are guided to adopt early sleeping and rising habits, adjusted according to season and personal circumstances, to ensure proper qi and blood circulation. Specifically, early bedtime (21:00 for healthy individuals and 19:00 for patients) is essential for blood production and qi movement.
